Nicolas Feuillatte acquires Henri Abelé

Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte (CV-CNF) today announced the acquisition of Champagne house Henri Abelé from the Freixenet Group, which had held it since 1985.

The announcement of the takeover was made after several weeks of exclusive negotiations, concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding in Paris.

The parties did not wish to communicate the financial terms of the transaction.

Champagne Henri Abelé sells around 300,000 bottles a year, exclusively through specialized and traditional channels as well as in its capacity as official supplier to the Royal Courts of Europe, UNESCO, and the major institutions of the French Republic (the Elysée, Senate, and embassies).

The House also benefits from the support of the distribution network of Freixenet and Yvon Mau, subsidiaries of the Henkell-Freixenet Group. Maison Henri Abelé does not have its own vineyards and obtains long-term supplies from winegrowers in the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs.

CV-CNF’s Nicolas Feuillatte flagship brand is number one in France and number three in the world.
