Situated on the Morvern peninsula in Argyll, Ncn’ean occupies the former farm buildings on the remote Drimmin Estate.

Ncn’ean started distilling in March 2017 with locally grown barley and spring water.

The distillery will produce 100,000 litres of pure alcohol each year and will release its first batch of whisky in 2020.

Designed by master distiller Dr Jim Swan, the distillery, according to CEO Annabel Thomas, will offer “something a little bit different to consumers around the world.”

And for whisky enthusiasts, Mcn’ean, which is an abbreviation of Neachneohain, the Queen of Spirits in Gaelic legend, is launching an offer whereby 60 members of the public can buy a barrel, equivalent to 300 bottles, for around £3,000 each.
