Gambero Rosso in Hong Kong

An Exclusive selection of Top Italian Wines and Spirits showcased in Hong Kong for three days of celebrating great flavors: tastings, seminars and inimitable “aperitivi”.

Italy being this year’s country of honour at Vinexpo Hong Kong ( May 24 to May 26) , the famous Italian wine and food guide Gambero Rosso will take part in the show for the first time ever. Gambero Rosso has been invited by the organizers as an exclusive partner to present Italy’s excellent products.

 On May 25 a walk-around tasting presented by Gambero Rosso in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre’s (HKCEC) Grand Foyer from 10 AM to 1 PM will present a selection of 60 top Italian wineries that have achieved the highest ratings in the Gambero Rosso 2016 Vini d’Italia wine guide. The tasting will feature 200 wines representing the inexhaustible vineyard patrimony and culture of the country. Moreover, a special section will be reserved for a selective choice of 10 Italian Top Spirits, a sector in continuous development and growth. In the late afternoon of the same day, Vinexpo’s the Blend afterwork party under the motto “aperitivo Italiano” will celebrate the typical Italian aperitif atmosphere.
Some of the best labels of traditional Italian liquors will be served, ranging from vermouth to gin and including much, much more. Italy’s most talented bartenders will take center stage, led by Roman maestro, Massimo d’Addezio, the most outgoing and entertaining among the country’s bartenders. Marco Sabellico, curator of the Vini d’Italia guide and witness to a glorious past in the world of mixology, will be at his side.
Two opportunities for more In-Depth Experiences will be offered. On May 24, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, the Special Awards of Vini d’Italia 2016 will be in the spotlight – a selection of nine wines, the Best of the Best, a synthesis of top Italian production, nine stories and nine symbols of Italy’s wine scene, selected from over 40,000 wines tasted. Many of these labels are already unfindable and sold out, so it will be one of the last opportunities to taste some of the most sought-after expressions of the Italian vineyard. The seminar will be led by Marco Sabellico, senior editor of the guide.
On May 26, at 10:00 am, a seminar “Top Italian Spirits” will be dedicated to the best Italian spirits, presented and explained by Massimo d’Addezio.
