Château Guiraud sends a strong message to « place de Bordeaux » after its release before the official « En Primeurs » tasting week.
On Monday morning, Château Guiraud, Premier Grand Cru Classé de Sauternes, his 2016 at €30 per bottle ex-negociant, same price as last year.
In a press release from last Friday, co-owner Xavier Planty confirmed his desire to announce an early release in order to avoid « the unspoken » and allow « wine merchants and importers to taste my wine with full knowledge of the facts » in a statement to Vinexpo Newsroom.
Since the age of 35, Xavier Planty and his team have been making significant eforts to rebuild Château Guiraud in a modern way with organic and sustainable strategies.
In this way, Planty « emphasises sincere human relations » and said that the tastings during the En Primeurs week are « more and more conventional ».
Being the first set for release, Château Guiraud draws public attention and sends a clear message about the quality of his wine and of the appellation Sauternes.
