Gruppo Campari is continuing its strategy of selling its still wine businesses. After Lapostolle winery in Chile, the Sardinian wine estate Tenute Sella & Mosca and the Tuscan estate Teruzzi & Puthod, the time has come for Gruppo Campari to sell Château de Sancerre to a France-based company, Maison Ackerman and its wine division Terrena, for €20.5 million.
With the purchase of London Dry Gin brand Bulldog for £46.8 million earlier this year, Gruppo Campari appears to be abandoning the still wine business as confirmed by Bob Kunze-Concewitz, CEO of Gruppo Campari.
‘With the disposal of the Sancerre winery, which follows the sale of the Italian and Chilean still wine businesses, finalised over the last year, Gruppo Campari fully exits the still wine business, thus continuing to streamline its non-core activities and increasing its focus on the core spirits business,’ he said to The Drinks Business.
This sale is subject to a final agreement of the French government on June, 30.
