The renowned American bookstore chain Barnes & Noble have recently been granted a license to serve alcoholic beverages in their stores. The demand to serve wine and beer in one of its stores in New York has been granted by the city council of New Hartford as a test program in December 2015. The license also permits Barnes & Noble to serve wine and beer during lectures at the bookstore. Barnes & Noble counts 647 stores across the USA, but plans on closing 10 of them due to harsh concurrence from internet sales. Beer and wine sales are supposed to give the stores new impetus.
