Clos de Tart goes to Pinault’s family

Clos de Tart, an iconic Grand Cru from Morey-Saint-Denis in Burgundy, was sold on Friday to François Pinault, owner of Château Latour.

Clos de Tart, founded in 1141, extends to 7.5 hectares and is the largest monopole vineyard classified as a Burgundy grand cru.

Through Artémis, his holding, Pinault also owns first growth Château Latour in Pauillac, Eisele Vineyards, Domaine d’Eugénie in Burgundy and Château Grillet in northern Rhône.

The price was not disclosed but rumours said that it could be approaching €240 million.
